Our Humble Story
Founded in 2013, Flow Academy began its journey producing content for media and other service industries under its maiden name - Art Century Production.
In 2017, the brand “Flow” was officially incorporated and our first ever performing art academy was born.
We believed strongly that
positive experiences are
better teachers than any syllabus.
After a year of scouting around, we realized that most academies operated under compromised environment and we would like to change that.
So a risky idea was hatched – we went on to design a model that operates premium locations, offers over 70 courses to 4 year-old and beyond, dedicates no less than 40% of service area to non-classroom facilities; all in the quest of delivering better experience to both our students and their accompanying friends and families.

Gean Lai
Founder & Director of Flow
Having begun to perform at the tender age of 5, Gean is a proud disciple of the Chopsticks Sisters, represented Malaysia to compete in Taiwan, and worked as a full time artist under the local record label of Astro.
At the same time, she had also been actively involved in coaching work where she ran dance and piano classes during her free time.
Over the years, Gean had developed an effective curriculum and way of working with young children; the Bright Star Development Program (BSDP) registered under Flow Academy is the only program that Gean personally coaches.
Terry Kok
Co-Founder & Business Planner
Being a long time entrepreneur and business consultant, Terry shares the passion for positive education with Gean.
He is now the muscles for the academy and helps plan operating policies to better the experience of students.
